Ravioli with Tomato Cream Sauce

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

We love pasta, especially if it is stuffed with cheese! We've been making this kid friendly dinner ever since my kids were just babies. Besides the fact that it's fast and easy, it is just so delicious! It's not a recipe with a long list of ingredients, just a great idea of how to bring together a super fast dinner the whole family can enjoy. You can substitute any kind of pasta or ravioli too, and use your favorite spaghetti sauce!

Ravioli with Tomato Cream Sauce

Serves 4-6

1 bag Gluten-free cheese ravioli, or pasta of choice

1 (24 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce, any type

1 (12 oz.) smoked sausage

1/2 cup heavy cream

Parmesan cheese for topping

Cook ravioli according to package directions. Drain and keep warm. Meanwhile, cut smoked sausage in half lengthwise, then in slices. To a large skillet heated with olive oil, add the smoked sausage and cook until browned. Pour in jar of spaghetti sauce and stir. Add heavy cream and stir until combined and smooth. Heat on low until heated through. Serve over ravioli. Top with Parmesan cheese.

Step-by-step tutorial:

Gather your ingredients. You will need gluten-free ravioli or your choice of gluten-free pasta (we like Conte's Cheese Ravioli), a smoked sausage link, a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.

Cut your smoked sausage in half lengthwise, then slice into 1/2-inch slices.

Heat a large skillet with some olive oil. Add sausage slices and cook until slightly browned.

I like to get them to this state, but since the sausage is pre-cooked, you can just warm it or lightly brown it. We think this adds a lot of flavor though.

Pour in your jar of spaghetti sauce (no need to drain unless there is an excessive amount of oil left from sauteing the sausages).

Add 1/2 cup heavy cream and stir until smooth. Heat over low heat until warmed through.

Meanwhile, cook your pasta according to package instructions. Drain.

Serve ravioli with sausage tomato-cream sauce and top with Parmesan cheese. Simple, yet so amazingly delicious. It's that tomato cream sauce people. It's scrumptious.
