Product Review - Gluten-free Heaven Honey Whole-Grain Bread

Updated: Mar 6, 2020

I love that there are so many products out there to give gluten-free eaters options. I heard about this company from a comment on another blog post, and wanted to give it a try. Here's my review of their Honey Whole-Grain Bread.

This was amazingly simple to make! It comes with the bread mix as well as a yeast packet. They have how-to videos on youtube (https://youtu.be/c014wOx2di0) for their products, and so I watched it to get any extra pointers they might show. The video did the mixing differently than the package says, so I followed the steps in the video. Basically, you add the yeast to the warm milk and stir. In your mixing bowl you pour everything in (including the milk/yeast mixture) and mix. Pour into a bread ban coated with cooking spray and smooth out. I loved the tip to use a plastic bag over your hand sprayed with cooking spray to shape it like a regular loaf. Then I let it rise covered with plastic wrap. It grew up above the pan in under an hour! I baked it at 350° F for 50 minutes and it was perfect. The package says to bake it for 55-65 minutes, so watch your bread. I didn't want the crust to be overbaked. 50 minutes was perfect in my oven.

It smelled amazing while baking (a smell we don't get often enough in our house - the smell of baking bread) and came out looking pretty. After sitting 10 minutes I put it onto a cutting board and we sliced it up to have with dinner. Slathered with butter and jam, this was delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed it, and we are bread snobs. My celiac son (who is super picky) said, "Wait. Is this gluten free? Are you sure?" He loved the taste, but still wouldn't eat the crust - maybe it's a kid thing. I made toast for him this morning with it and it toasted up great. I definitely think this bread is worth making because the whole family can enjoy it. It does say after 3 days you can freeze it and pull out as needed. I think ours will be gone today.

We were joking about the name a little at dinner. My son said that if heaven was gluten-free, then he didn't want to go there. 😂 But until that great day when he can eat all the gluten his little heart desires, this bread is a pretty great option. I would give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5!

Here's where you can find their website:

Amazon also sells their products:

I think the pricing is very reasonable, and it shipped in two days! I'm very pleased with this product and will be purchasing again.
