Pepperoni Pizza Pasta

Updated: Sep 29, 2022

I've never tried pasta on pizza, but pizza pasta? Yep, it's a thing, and a delicious one at that. Made with elbow macaroni baked with pizza sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, and topped with pepperoni and olives. You can top with peppers, mushrooms, sausage, or whatever you like on pizza. These are our favorite toppings, and we love this gooey cheesy dish!

Pepperoni Pizza Pasta

Serves 6

1 1/2 cups gluten free elbow macaroni

2 eggs

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup sour cream

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 1/2 cups pizza sauce

2 cups (8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese

30 pepperoni slices

1 can (2 oz.) sliced black olives, drained

Cook macaroni according to package directions, decreasing boiling time by one minute. Drain. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, and Italian seasoning. Add the cooked pasta and stir to coat. Pour into a greased 11X7" baking dish. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and spread pizza sauce over the top. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese. Top with pepperoni and olives. Bake 15 more minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Step-by-step tutorial:

Gather your ingredients. You will need GF elbow macaroni, 2 eggs, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and sliced black olives.

Cook macaroni according to package directions, decreasing cooking time by 1 minute to avoid the noodles from being soggy when it bakes. Drain. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup sour cream, and 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning. Add the cooked pasta and stir to coat.

Pour the pasta into a greased 11x7" baking dish. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with the pizza sauce; spread to cover all. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.

Top with pepperoni's overlapping and sliced olives. My son is not an olive fan, so we do have without for him. This is where you can put whatever toppings you like on pizza. I think green peppers and mushrooms would be yummy!

Bake uncovered at 375°F for 15 more minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted. Let it sit 10 minutes before serving.

Every spoonful is full of gooey stretchy cheese and pepperoni along with the pasta. It's such a fun alternative to pizza night.

Kids especially love this meal. Serve it with a salad and you've got one happy family!
