Nutella Mousse

Don't you love a dessert that looks and tastes super fancy, but takes about 10 minutes to make? They are my favorite, especially if they involve chocolate! This smooth, creamy mousse stars Nutella, which is a huge hit in our family. The swirly pattern comes from folding in the whipped topping until almost combined. Quick and so perfect to satisfy your dessert craving! So fast and easy, you'll want to make it often.

Nutella Mousse

Serves 6

1 3/4 cup cold milk

1 (3.9 oz.) package instant chocolate pudding mix

1/2 cup Nutella

1 3/4 cup whipped topping, thawed

Additional whipped topping, optional

In a mixing bowl, whisk the milk and pudding mix until combined. Let stand for a few minutes to start to thicken. Whisk in the Nutella until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping with a spatula, until almost combined, leaving stripes and swirls. Spoon into 6 dessert cups. Chill until serving. Top with additional whipped topping if desired.

Step-by-step tutorial:

Gather your ingredients. You will need milk (I used 2%), a small box of instant chocolate pudding, Nutella, and frozen whipped topping (thawed). Easy!

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 3/4 cups milk and the pudding mix. Let stand for a few minutes until starting to thicken. Spoon in 1/2 cup Nutella and whisk until smooth. The Nutella is so thick, you think it won't combine well, but it gets nice and smooth with some good whisking.

Add about 3/4 of an 8 oz. tub of whipped topping (approximately 1 3/4 cups), reserving some to top the mousse later. Using a spatula, fold in.

Fold until almost combined, leaving some swirly stripes in the mousse.

Pour into 6 dessert glasses, letting it swirl as it pours.

That swirl makes it feel even a little more fancy. I love these glass dessert dishes too. Kids especially think they are fun.

After you refrigerate for a few hours, serve topped with additional whipped topping!

Smooth, creamy, dreamy, Nutella-y. It doesn't get much better than that.

The great thing is, even kids can easily make this. So put them on the job and have some dessert tonight!
