Looking for a fun way to celebrate with your kiddos this summer? These marshmallow pops (aka Tigger Tails at Disneyland) are both fun to make and eat! So many possibilities of toppings..... you can really get your creative juices flowing. These are for a 4th of July celebration, but I'll also share a s'mores version below! You will have a blast pulling these out when it's time for dessert!
Marshmallow Pops
Servings as desired
1 bag jumbo marshmallows
Popsicle sticks
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or any favorite chip....white, butterscotch, milk, dark)
4 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
Sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs (GF), coconut, chopped peanuts, crushed cookies, etc.
Place 2 marshmallows on each popsicle stick. Set aside. In a deep glass measuring cup, combine the chocolate chips and oil. Microwave on high in 30 second intervals until mostly melted. Stir until completely smooth. Dip marshmallows, completely swirling and coating. Hold above and twist and shake to get off excess chocolate. Immediately roll in sprinkles of choice. Lay on a parchment lined baking sheet. Put in freezer until chilled. Once the chocolate has solidified, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving.
Step-by-step tutorial:
Gather your ingredients. You will need jumbo marshmallows, popsicle sticks, vegetable oil, chocolate chips of choice, and sprinkles. The possibilities are endless! Get creative!
Push two jumbo marshmallows onto each popsicle stick, just until the stick comes out through the top.
In a deep glass dish, melt the 2 cups chocolate chips and 4 1/2 teaspoons oil together in the microwave on high, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth and completely melted.
Life hack: I use a popsicle stick to stir because you can keep it in the bowl while you microwave.
Set up your dipping station with prepared marshmallows, melted chocolate, and sprinkles in shallow bowls.
Dip marshmallows completely into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat all sides. Twirl the stick and shake to get off excess chocolate.
To coat in sprinkles, hold the marshmallows above a bowl and sprinkle them on with my other hand until coated.
Lay them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Once finished, place in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes to set the chocolate.
A favorite variety is to roll them in crushed gluten free graham cracker crumbs.
S'more pops are scrumptious!
These make a great treat for birthday parties or family dinners.
They are a huge bang at a 4th of July celebration too!
You will want to try these ASAP. Let me know what you come up with!
