Homemade Sloppy Joes - Grandma's recipe

What family doesn't love a good sloppy joe night? This beef mixture is SO MUCH BETTER than Manwich or any canned version. The sauce has a hint of sweetness and is packed with flavor. We love to toast our buns under the broiler first so they don't get soggy from the sloppy joe meat. My son and husband love a slice of cheese on theirs too. We often have sloppy joes with tater tots to get that Napolean Dynamite vibe.

Homemade Sloppy Joes

Serves 6

1 lb. ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

1 teaspoon mustard

2 tablespoons ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

In a pan, brown ground beef and onion. Drain. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve on gluten free buns.

Honestly, I remember eating this as a kid, and am so excited to have the recipe. We will be making this again and again. It's a fast, easy meal that only needs a handful of ingredients. I like to think of my grandma serving her six hungry kids and the smiles on their faces when they take a bite.

I hope you give this a try! It really takes you back to the 80's and brings all the nostalgia feels. Homemade is always better!
