Easy BBQ Ribs



My kids, especially my youngest, LOVE ribs. It's what they choose to order whenever we are at a steakhouse instead of steak. I think part of it is the fun of eating off of a bone. 😂 My husband can make some amazing ribs on the grill and smoker, but there are times I want to have some pork ribs without all the fuss! This method of cooking ribs is a game changer and will quickly become something you'll love once you try it. You can eat ribs more often than you ever thought. They are tender, fall off the bone good!



Easy BBQ Ribs

Serves 6


1 rack of pork ribs, or a package of boneless country ribs

Salt and pepper

20 oz. favorite BBQ sauce


In a slow cooker, place ribs meat side up. Season with salt and pepper. Pour enough BBQ sauce over ribs to cover. Put on lid and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Remove ribs and place on baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Brush remaining BBQ sauce over ribs. Put under broiler on high for a few minutes, watching closely, until sauce is sizzling and starting to caramelize. Cut into portions and serve with extra sauce, if desired.


Step-by-step tutorial:


Your ingredients for this are simple: pork ribs and your favorite BBQ sauce (we love Sweet Baby Ray's). This time I had some boneless ribs that I cooked, but we often do it with baby-back pork ribs on the bone.


Place the ribs in a slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with BBQ sauce. Cook on low for 7-8 hours.


Remove ribs from slow cooker and place on a baking sheet covered in aluminum foil. Easy cleanup is key! (Since I cooked boneless ribs this time, I chose to shred the meat to make it easy to serve. If you have bone-in ribs, you can cut them into serving size portions now.)


Cover with remaining BBQ sauce. Use a pastry brush to cover meat.


Once ribs are covered in sauce, put the pan in the oven on high broil. Broil for a few minutes, watching very closely, until the BBQ sauce starts to sizzle and caramelize.


They will look like they just came off the BBQ! And you made minimal effort! That rib meat is going to fall off the bones because it is so tender.


My family loves ribs cooked this way as much as they do on the BBQ. It tastes and looks the same. Serve with additional BBQ sauce, if desired.
